“ Our first night at Kanazawa, we had cravings for shabu-shabu and looked up Google reviews for a recommendation. We decided on this quaint restaurant with limited but raving reviews. We were seated in a cozy private room and attended to by a friendly and warm local server who conversed with us in English and took our order for the individual dinner set. He was pleasantly accomodating to our request, swapping out the sashimi dish for a cooked dish instead for the kids. The night commenced with the Hokuriku assorted snacks. A lovely combination of tantalizing flavours coming from the marinated squid, mozuku seaweed and sesame tofu that honestly made a lasting first impression. I loved it. I also enjoyed the wagyu beef appetiser very much, which was cooked just right, topped with a touch of wasabi, giving it a punch that put a smile on my face. For the main course, the shabu-shabu was exceptional - almost melting in my mouth after a quick dip in the hot pot. The pork loin was pretty tasty, but I definitely preferred the beef. The Himi udon noodles had a lovely, smooth texture we all appreciated. At this point, our stomachs were pretty maxed out, but we managed to close off with a wonderful kaga bou hojicha ice cream that came with a wafer made to perfection. Overall, a definite high point in our dining experience here at Kanazawa thus far! Thank you so much for a night of top notch food, drink and service. Worth every penny for about 10k yen per head. Remember to make a reservation beforehand! :) ”

“ this is undoubtedly the best shabu shabu I’ve ever had! we opted for the noto-beef only course, and the beef was so delicious. it looked quite fatty, but did not taste overly greasy at all. you only needed to cook it for a few seconds and the meat simply melts in your mouth. what was beyond my expectations was that everything else was amazing as well - yes, even the veggies! they clearly put a lot of thought into the menu, and most of the dishes featured local produce, from sea to farm. you could tell that even the table ware was picked out with care. it was a very memorable experience dining with kutaniyaki ware and drinking from beautiful local metalware sake cups. service was impeccable also. both our servers were very friendly and professional! there were some last minute adjustments to the menu but they explained everything to us with care. thank you so much! we wandered in at around 6:30pm on a saturday without a reservation, and was very lucky to have found a table. seating is limited, and pretty much each table is in an individual room, so making an online reservation beforehand would be the best. if we ever come back to kanazawa or the hokuriku area, we will definitely visit again^^ ”

“ We ordered sets of 9900 yen, and they were amazingly fresh and delicious. Every dish was served with proper arrangement and proportion. Noto beef was soft and melted in our mouths. Noto pork was chewy. The seasonal raw fish slices were sweet and umami. The service and atmosphere were great. We enjoyed it a lot. ”

The service was incredibly warm, welcoming, and gracious—every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. This has to be one of our favorite restaurants in Japan. The sashimi was out of this world, the beef tataki was insanely good, Noto beef melted in our mouths, and the udon noodles were cooked to perfection. We also loved the green tea dessert and tea. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Everything was exceptional, and we truly had a wonderful time. Thank you for an unforgettable dining experience! ”
